Christine holds a bachelor's degree from Niagara University and a law degree from University of Miami. She served as a prosecutor in Miami-Dade from 1999-2001 and in Sarasota, from 2001-2004 where she became Supervisor of the South County office. In 2004, she began a multi-disciplinary private law practice.
She served on the Sarasota County Planning Commission from 2008 to 2010 and as a trustee for Manatee Community College/State College of Florida Board from 2007 to 2010. She has served as a director on the Sarasota County Bar Association South County Division and chaired a special task force on South County Resources and Facilities.
Christine was appointed to the Sarasota County Commission by Gov. Charlie Crist on Nov. 24, 2010 and was then subsequently elected in 2012. Christine represented the County Commission on the Sarasota Manatee Metropolitan Planning Organization, the Criminal Justice Commission and the Sarasota EDC. She served as Chair of the County Commission in 2012. She served until she was term-limited in 2016.
Christine was awarded the Business Advocate Hall of Fame Award in 2018 by the North Port Chamber of Commerce. She was named one of the 25 most influential men and women in 2016 by Sarasota Magazine. She received the Florida Association of Counties Presidential Advocacy Award in 2015 and 2011. Christine was a 2013 Women in Business Honoree from the Venice Gondolier newspaper and received the Distinguished Public Service Award in 2011 from the Florida Planning and Zoning Association Gulf Coast Chapter.
Christine is Executive Director at The Argus Foundation, a CEO led think tank and local government watch dog organization that applies business leadership to important community issues. She currently writes regular columns for the SRQ Daily on behalf of The Argus Foundation.
Christine serves on the Board of Directors for the Suncoast Foundation for Handicapped Children, Suncoast Charities for Children, and Sarasota Cotillion. She is an ex officio member of the North Port Chamber Board of Directors and South County Tiger Bay Board of Directors. She volunteers for South County Teen Court with her children and is the Volleyball Team Mom for her daughter’s Volleyball team, the Siesta Key Juniors.
Christine is married to her CPA husband, Eric, and together they have three children and live in Venice.
