Arts & Empowerment: Student Literacy & Empowerment Through Hip Hop
Experience a powerful and inspiring evening exploring how the arts, and hip hop in particular, can transform learning, identity, and student empowerment. Poet, educator, and hip hop artist Bomani Armah (aka Baba Bomani) draws on more than 20 years of classroom experience to reveal how rhythm, rhyme, and repetition can unlock literacy skills and help young people see themselves as readers, writers, and storytellers. Through culturally responsive arts practices, Bomani demonstrates how creative expression can affirm student identity, elevate student voice, and deepen engagement in learning.
