The Sarasota-Manatee Ohio State Alumni Club is proud to announce the launch of the Captain Curt’s Stewart Family Honorary Scholarship, a prestigious new award providing $15,000 in financial support to an outstanding student for the 2026–2027 academic year.
This significant scholarship reflects the Club’s ongoing commitment to academic excellence, leadership, and community engagement among students connected to The Ohio State University. The Captain Curt’s Stewart Family Honorary Scholarship will recognize a high-achieving individual who demonstrates exceptional scholastic performance, strong character, and a dedication to service.

Named in honor of Stewart Family, a beloved local family and longtime supporter of education and community initiatives, the scholarship embodies the spirit of generosity, perseverance, and Buckeye pride.
“We are thrilled to introduce this transformative scholarship opportunity,” said John August, President of the Sarasota-Manatee Ohio State Alumni Club. “The Captain Curt’s Honorary Scholarship not only eases the financial burden of higher education but also celebrates the values that define our alumni community—leadership, integrity, and a passion for giving back.”

Scholarship Details:

• Award Amount: $15,000
• Eligibility: incoming or current Ohio State students from the Sarasota-Manatee region, academic merit, etc.]
• Application Deadline: June 1, 2026
• Selection Criteria: Academic achievement, leadership involvement, community service, and personal character

Applications will be reviewed by a selection committee comprised of alumni and community leaders. The recipient will be announced in advance of the 2026–2027 academic year.
